Ingredients
- 1 lb crab meat (fresh, canned, or imitation)
- ½ cup mayonnaise (or Greek yogurt for a lighter option)
- 1 tbsp lemon juice (freshly squeezed)
- 1 tsp Dijon mustard
- 1 tsp Old Bay seasoning (optional, for extra flavor)
- 1 tbsp fresh parsley (chopped)
- ½ cup celery (finely chopped)
- ¼ cup red onion (finely diced)
- Salt and pepper (to taste)
- ½ tsp garlic powder (optional)
Instructions
Prepare the Crab – If using fresh or canned crab, drain excess liquid and gently shred it into bite-sized pieces. If using imitation crab, chop it into small chunks.
Make the Dressing – In a mixing bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, lemon juice, Dijon mustard, Old Bay seasoning, and garlic powder (if using).
Combine Ingredients – Add crab meat, celery, red onion, and parsley to the bowl. Gently fold everything together until well mixed.
Season & Chill – Add salt and pepper to taste. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to enhance the flavors.
Serve & Enjoy – Serve chilled as a sandwich filling, over lettuce, or with crackers.
Notes
- For a healthier version, swap mayo for Greek yogurt or a mix of half mayo, half yogurt.
- For extra crunch, add diced bell peppers or cucumbers.
- Want a little heat? Add a pinch of cayenne pepper or a few dashes of hot sauce.
- Make it ahead – Crab salad tastes even better after a few hours in the fridge!
