Description

This simple crab salad recipe is light, creamy, and bursting with flavor! Perfect for sandwiches, wraps, or as a refreshing side dish, this seafood salad is quick to make and sure to be a crowd-pleaser. Whether using fresh or imitation crab, this easy recipe delivers the perfect balance of texture and taste.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb crab meat (fresh, canned, or imitation)
  • ½ cup mayonnaise (or Greek yogurt for a lighter option)
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice (freshly squeezed)
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 tsp Old Bay seasoning (optional, for extra flavor)
  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley (chopped)
  • ½ cup celery (finely chopped)
  • ¼ cup red onion (finely diced)
  • Salt and pepper (to taste)
  • ½ tsp garlic powder (optional)

Instructions

Prepare the Crab – If using fresh or canned crab, drain excess liquid and gently shred it into bite-sized pieces. If using imitation crab, chop it into small chunks.

Make the Dressing – In a mixing bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, lemon juice, Dijon mustard, Old Bay seasoning, and garlic powder (if using).

Combine Ingredients – Add crab meat, celery, red onion, and parsley to the bowl. Gently fold everything together until well mixed.

Season & Chill – Add salt and pepper to taste. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to enhance the flavors.

Serve & Enjoy – Serve chilled as a sandwich filling, over lettuce, or with crackers.

Notes

  • For a healthier version, swap mayo for Greek yogurt or a mix of half mayo, half yogurt.
  • For extra crunch, add diced bell peppers or cucumbers.
  • Want a little heat? Add a pinch of cayenne pepper or a few dashes of hot sauce.
  • Make it ahead – Crab salad tastes even better after a few hours in the fridge!
