Ingredients

Scale
  • 34 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (or 6 boneless chicken thighs)
  • 1 packet (1 oz) ranch seasoning mix
  • 1 packet (1 oz) au jus gravy mix (or brown gravy mix)
  • ½ cup unsalted butter (1 stick), cut into pieces
  • ½ cup pepperoncini peppers, whole or sliced (plus ¼ cup juice)
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp garlic powder (optional)

Optional Additions:

  • ½ cup chicken broth (for extra moisture)
  • 4 oz cream cheese (for a creamier version)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Slow Cooker:

    • Place the chicken breasts (or thighs) in the bottom of the slow cooker.
  2. Add Seasonings & Ingredients:

    • Sprinkle the ranch seasoning mix and au jus gravy mix over the chicken.
    • Place slices of butter evenly on top of the chicken.
    • Add the pepperoncini peppers and pepperoncini juice.
    • (Optional) Pour in chicken broth for extra juiciness.
  3. Cook the Chicken:

    • Cover and cook on LOW for 6-8 hours or HIGH for 4 hours, until the chicken is tender and easily shreddable.
  4. Shred & Serve:

    • Shred the chicken using two forks and mix well with the sauce.
    • (Optional) Stir in cream cheese for a richer, creamier texture.
    • Serve over mashed potatoes, rice, pasta, or in sandwiches.
