- 3 ripe bananas, mashed
- ½ cup (115g) unsalted butter, melted
- ¾ cup (150g) granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 ½ cups (190g) all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon cinnamon (optional)
- ½ cup (120ml) milk (or buttermilk for extra moisture)
- ½ cup (75g) chopped walnuts or chocolate chips (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5-inch (23x13cm) loaf pan or line it with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, mash the bananas until smooth. Stir in the melted butter until combined.
- Add the sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract, then mix well.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the banana mixture, alternating with the milk, and stir until just combined. Do not overmix!
- Fold in the walnuts or chocolate chips if using.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
- Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Let the banana bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Slice and enjoy!
Notes
- For extra moisture, use buttermilk instead of regular milk.
- Add a sprinkle of brown sugar on top before baking for a caramelized crust.
- Store at room temperature for up to 3 days or refrigerate for up to a week.
