- 3 ripe bananas, mashed (about 1 ¼ cups)
- ½ cup (115g) unsalted butter, melted
- ¾ cup (150g) brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- ½ cup (120ml) plain yogurt or sour cream (for extra moisture)
Add-ins:
- ¾ cup (130g) chocolate chips (semi-sweet or dark)
- ¼ cup chopped walnuts (optional)
Instructions
Preheat & Prepare:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan or line it with parchment paper.
Mix Dry Ingredients:
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon. Set aside.
Prepare the Wet Ingredients:
- In a large bowl, mash the bananas until smooth.
- Stir in the melted butter, brown sugar, eggs, vanilla, and yogurt (or sour cream). Mix until well combined.
Combine Wet & Dry Ingredients:
- Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Gently stir in the chocolate chips and walnuts (if using).
Bake the Banana Bread:
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
