Description

This 4-ingredient banana bread is the easiest and most delicious homemade treat! Made with just ripe bananas, eggs, self-rising flour, and brown sugar, this moist and fluffy loaf is perfect for breakfast, snacks, or dessert. With no butter or oil required, it’s a healthier take on traditional banana bread. Plus, it’s beginner-friendly and comes together in just one bowl!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 ripe bananas, mashed
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1½ cups self-rising flour
  • ½ cup brown sugar

Optional Add-ins: ½ cup chocolate chips, chopped nuts, or 1 tsp cinnamon for extra flavor.

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Ingredients

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan with non-stick spray or line it with parchment paper.

Step 2: Mash the Bananas

In a large mixing bowl, mash the bananas using a fork until smooth. A few small lumps are fine!

Step 3: Add the Eggs and Sugar

Whisk in the eggs until fully combined, then mix in the brown sugar. Stir until the sugar dissolves and the mixture is smooth.

Step 4: Incorporate the Flour

Gradually fold in the self-rising flour, stirring gently with a spatula or wooden spoon. Avoid overmixing—just mix until there are no visible streaks of flour.

Step 5: Bake the Banana Bread

Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top. Bake for 40-45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

Step 6: Cool and Serve

Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely. Slice and enjoy!

Notes

  • If you don’t have self-rising flour, use 1½ cups all-purpose flour + 1½ tsp baking powder.
  • For a sugar-free version, replace brown sugar with mashed dates or omit it completely if your bananas are extra ripe.
  • Store at room temperature for 3 days, in the fridge for up to a week, or freeze for up to 3 months.
